The company is led by Dunel Laurent. Alongside LACAR, he works as chief estimator for a Florida general contractor that has been building since 1974 — reading drawings, running takeoffs, levelling subcontractor bids and writing scopes, every working day.
That background is the reason this site talks about scope instead of adjectives. The complaint general contractors have about drywall subs is almost never about craft. It is about a bid that was thin on the parts nobody read, and a change order three months later for work everyone assumed was included.
So the estimate comes first and it comes in writing: what is being framed, what board goes up, what finish level applies where, and what is not in the number.
